One system for cooling, heating and hot water

Traditional electric hot water tanks run on a 1:1 efficiency ratio — one kilowatt of electricity produces just one kilowatt of heat. The MAXA Total-One is an intelligent thermodynamic system with a COP of up to 3.9: for every kilowatt of electricity it draws, it delivers up to 3.9 kW of usable heat.

By pairing a premium single-phase outdoor inverter compressor with an integrated 190-litre stainless steel hot water cylinder and up to three indoor hi-wall air conditioning heads, the Total-One becomes a complete, unified heating, cooling and hot water network — one compact plant footprint instead of three separate systems. It's the smart choice for apartments with limited plant space and for new all-electric homes alike.

It sits alongside the rest of our air conditioning range, but it's the only unit that also makes your domestic hot water — and, in summer, does it almost for free.

What is the MAXA Total-One?+
It's a single compact system that does three jobs at once — air conditioning, heating and domestic hot water. A single-phase inverter outdoor unit drives up to three indoor hi-wall air conditioning heads and charges an integrated 190-litre stainless steel hot water cylinder, giving you a complete cooling, heating and hot water network from one piece of plant.
How does it make hot water so cheaply?+
Instead of a traditional electric element (a 1:1 ratio — 1 kW of electricity makes 1 kW of heat), the Total-One is a thermodynamic heat pump with a COP of up to 3.9. Every kilowatt of electricity it draws is multiplied into up to 3.9 kW of heat. On a standard Sydney tariff that's an estimated saving of around $874 a year versus a standard electric tank.
Is the hot water really free in summer?+
Effectively, yes. The Total-One's automated Total Energy Recovery Circuit captures the heat extracted from your rooms while the system is cooling and, instead of dumping it outside, redirects it straight into the hot water cylinder. So while you cool your home in summer, your hot water is heated as a by-product.
How many rooms can it cool and heat?+
Up to three rooms, using premium MAXA Tredis indoor hi-wall heads — sized from a 2.64 kW head for bedrooms and offices up to a 5.28 kW head for large lounge rooms. Mix and match the three heads to suit your floor plan.
How quiet is it?+
The Tredis indoor heads use DC variable-speed fan motors and drop to a virtually silent 26 dB(A) in sleep mode — ideal for bedrooms. They also include built-in Wi-Fi for remote control and Silver Ion air filtration to scrub dust and allergens.
What refrigerant and power supply does it use?+
The outdoor unit (model EXT4M80HR) runs on low-GWP R32 refrigerant and a standard 230 V single-phase supply, so it suits most homes without three-phase power. The integrated 190-litre cylinder (TNK190HR) is vitrified enamelled steel with a sacrificial magnesium anode and a 2.0 kW immersion booster.
