Air Conditioning

Reverse-cycle split, multi-split and ducted air conditioning — including the new MAXA Total-One, which cools, heats AND makes your domestic hot water from one system. Paired with hydronic where it makes sense, supplied where ducted is the right call.

AC isn't always the answer — but sometimes it is. We supply and install reverse-cycle split systems (single-room), multi-splits (multi-room from one outdoor unit), and ducted systems for whole-of-home cooling. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic.

We're equally happy to recommend hydronic cooling instead, and we'll be honest about which suits your project better.

New: MAXA Total-One — air conditioning that also makes your hot water

The MAXA Total-One is a revolutionary new system that does three jobs from one compact plant: air conditioning, heating AND domestic hot water. A single-phase inverter outdoor unit drives up to three indoor hi-wall heads and charges an integrated 190-litre stainless steel hot water cylinder.

Because it's a thermodynamic heat pump (COP up to 3.9) rather than a 1:1 electric element, it makes hot water for a fraction of the cost of a traditional electric tank — an estimated saving of around $874 a year on a typical Sydney home. In summer its Total Energy Recovery Circuit redirects the heat pulled out of your rooms straight into the hot water tank, so your hot water is effectively free while you cool. Hot water to 55 °C, low-GWP R32 refrigerant and whisper-quiet 26 dB(A) indoor heads. See the MAXA Total-One page (linked opposite) for full specs and pricing.

FAQs

Common questions

Do you have an air conditioner that also makes hot water?

Yes — the new MAXA Total-One. One compact system provides air conditioning, heating and domestic hot water: a single-phase inverter outdoor unit drives up to three indoor hi-wall heads and an integrated 190-litre hot water cylinder, at a COP of up to 3.9. In summer it recovers the heat from cooling to make your hot water almost free. See our MAXA Total-One page for full details.

Should I choose ducted or split AC?

Splits: cheaper per room, single-room control, easier to install. Ducted: invisible at room level, single thermostat option, better aesthetic. Multi-splits split the difference. We'll spec based on layout, budget and aesthetic priorities.

Which AC brands do you supply?

Mitsubishi Electric (premium, quietest), Daikin (workhorse reliability), Fujitsu (good value), Panasonic (mid-range). We hold service relationships with all four — including extended warranty registrations.

Can you replace an AC outdoor unit only?

Sometimes — if the indoor unit is recent and uses compatible refrigerant. Often it's better to replace both because newer outdoor units use newer refrigerants. We'll inspect and quote both options.

"AHHAC delivered our 22-zone underfloor system on time, on budget and to spec. The crew were tidy, the documentation was thorough, and the commissioning was textbook."

David Chen
Custom Builder · Mosman, NSW

"We've worked with AHHAC for 17 years. They've installed and serviced our hot water plant across three commercial buildings — and they pick up the phone on weekends."

James Holloway
Strata Manager · Melbourne CBD

"Three mobs quoted us; AHHAC's design was the only one based on a proper heat-loss calculation. The system runs beautifully — the others would've been oversized and expensive."
