Editorial standards & content review policy

Heating and hot water are big, long-lived purchases. Here is exactly how AHHAC produces, fact-checks, reviews and corrects the advice on this website — so you know what you can rely on.

Who writes and reviews our content

Every guide, service page and product page on this site is produced under the AHHAC Technical Team — AHHAC's in-house licensed plumbers and hydronic engineers (NSW plumbing licence 262528C). The same team designs, installs, commissions and services hydronic heating, cooling and hot water systems across NSW, the ACT, Victoria and Queensland, and has done since 1998.

We write from what we see on site: the homes we heat-loss model, the systems we install and the faults we are called out to fix. Where a page gives a recommendation, it is the recommendation we would make to a customer standing in one of our six showrooms.

How we check facts

Technical statements are checked against primary sources before publishing:

  • Manufacturer datasheets, installation manuals and warranty terms (Maxa, Viessmann, Immergas, Sime, IMAS, Rheem, Rinnai and others).
  • Australian Standards we install to — including AS/NZS 3500 (plumbing and drainage), AS/NZS 5601 (gas installations) and AS/NZS 2918 (solid-fuel heater installation).
  • Government and regulator sources for rebates, schemes and energy guidance — for example energy.gov.au, the Clean Energy Regulator and state energy-saving programs.
  • Climate data (heating degree-days, design temperatures) for city and suburb pages.
  • Our own quoting, installation and service records for typical costs, timelines and running-cost ranges.

Prices, running costs and rebates

Prices and running costs on this site are indicative ranges drawn from our recent quoting experience — they are not quotes. The real figure for your home depends on its size, insulation, glazing, climate, the heat source and emitters you choose, and your energy tariff. That is why every AHHAC quote starts with a site visit and a room-by-room heat-loss calculation.

Rebates and incentive schemes change often. Where we describe them we link to the official program, state when the information was checked, and confirm current eligibility for your property at quote time.

Commercial relationships & independence

AHHAC is an authorised supplier and installer of several brands we write about, including Maxa, Viessmann, Immergas, Sime, ThermaSkirt, Rheem and Rinnai, and we supply IMAS radiators distributed in Australia by Next Cycle. We sell and install these products, and we say so.

Our comparisons and buying guides still describe trade-offs honestly — including when a product, or hydronic heating itself, is not the right choice for a home. No manufacturer pays for, writes or approves our editorial content.

Reviews and case studies

Testimonials on this site come from AHHAC customers. We do not pay for reviews, and we do not mark up our own testimonials as star ratings for search results. Case studies describe AHHAC projects; performance and running-cost figures quoted in them are specific to that home and are not a guarantee for yours.

How often content is reviewed

Every page shows a Last updated date. We review our guides and landing pages at least once a year — ahead of each winter booking season — and sooner when product ranges, Australian Standards, energy tariffs or rebate programs change. A date only moves forward when the content itself has been meaningfully reviewed or revised.

Short summaries (“The short answer”) at the top of our pages are written to be quoted accurately by search engines and AI assistants; they are reviewed alongside the full page.

Corrections

If you spot something that is out of date or wrong, please email info@ahhac.com.au with the page address and the issue. A licensed member of our technical team will check it, and if we got it wrong we will correct the page and update its date.
